For a comfortable and enriching experience, consider booking a private villa nearby for an overnight stay. This allows you to leave early in the morning and catch the sunrise, saving on commute time and enhancing your visit. Private villas in the area can cost anywhere from INR 5,000 to INR 15,000 per night, depending on the amenities offered.

Neturlem Waterfall

Situated in the Quepem taluka, Neturlem Waterfall is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape into nature away from the usual tourist crowd. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forests, making it an excellent spot for a peaceful retreat.  A memorable feature of Neturlem waterfall is the native Bombax Ceiba trees, locally known as Savri, which add a touch of charm to the area. Neturlem is accessible from Margao, which takes about an hour. There is no entrance fee, so it is an easy and affordable trip. There are a lot of activities around Neturlem including nature walks and bird watching, providing a fun and learning experience for visitors.

Kuskem Waterfall

Located in Canacona, Kuskem Waterfall is another beautiful spot to visit during the monsoon. The waterfall is relatively smaller but equally enchanting for nature enthusiasts. The natural beauty of this spot is a delight to the eyes, but it’s more adventurous to reach it because it’s accessed by a trek through the forest. You can reach Kuskem by driving to Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, which is around 20 km from Canacona.

Harvalem Waterfall

Harvalem Waterfall, also known as Arvalem Waterfall, is situated near Sanquelim. This picturesque waterfall, with a drop of around 50 meters, is best visited during the monsoon and is a perfect spot for you to visit with friends or family. One of the best parts about the Harvalem waterfall is that the area also houses the ancient Arvalem caves, adding a touch of history to your visit. You can reach Harvalem by a 30-minute drive from Bicholim. Taking a few steps down from there can lead you to a big old Shiva temple, which is also a pilgrimage spot for the Goans. There is no entry fee, and you can enjoy a picnic or visit the nearby Rudreshwar Temple.

Bamanbudo Waterfall

Upon parking by the road, a mere five steps will lead you to the cascading water, allowing children to play in safety.

Arvalem Waterfall

And if you’re into history and nature, you’ll love that it’s conveniently located near the fascinating Arvalem caves. The 40-minute drive from Mapusa is totally worth it and there’s no entry fee. It’s a paradise for photography enthusiasts and anyone who loves exploring historical sites.

Tambdi Surla Waterfall

The Tambdi Surla Waterfall is a true hidden paradise. Nestled near the 12th-century Mahadev Temple, it offers an enchanting experience for visitors who love trekking amidst lush jungles. The terrain leading to the waterfall is set amidst a dense wilderness with numerous small rivers to cross, creating an exciting journey. It takes approximately 1 hour to trek from the Shiva Temple to reach this natural wonder. When the waterfalls are in bloom during monsoon, the long trek becomes even more worth it. One can opt to rent a scooter and embark on the 2.5-hour trek from Calangute, or choose to drive by car, and both options promise an exciting journey to the destination. The trek through the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary to reach the waterfall further adds to the allure.
